I met Kazuo Ohno and his son at his home. He was 98 years old at the time. What a delicate, refined man, and what a beautiful location — a warehouse full of his costumes. I was allowed to hold his hands and film him… what an honor!
Kazuo Ohno was a Japanese dancer. He was one of the developers and inspirations behind the dance form butoh, an expressive dance characterized by slow movements. Ohno influenced many international choreographers.
