Time / Louis Andriessen & Betsy Torenbos
A multimedia installation by filmmaker and theatre-maker Betsy Torenbos. De Tijd (Time) from 1981 by Louis Andriessen can be heard upon entering the church. The Bibles in the pews have been replaced by small iPads showing the film version of Torenbos’s performance set to this music. The choir is illuminated with the same images. The central figure is a 350-kilogram glacial boulder, surrounded by salt and white sheets. Eternity has been touched!
